Ingredients
3 cups flour
1 cup milk
1 1/2 sticks of butter (cold)
1 cup sugar
2 chai tea bag
1 teaspoon salt
5 teaspoons baking powder
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
Glaze
1 cup powered sugar
2 tablespoons milk
1 teaspoons chai spice
Directions
1. Pre Heat oven 350
2. Add milk to saucepan to warm, add tea bags and steep for 10-15 minutes to get full flavor of the chai.
3. Combine flour, salt, sugar, baking powder in a large bowl.
4. Cut in cold butter to the flour mixture until it looks like crumbs. I always just my hands for this part.
5. After the milk has cooled add to the flour and butter. Stir together until combined.
6. Turn mixture out onto a clean surface, the dough will be a little crumbly.
7. Using your hands push everything together. Do not knead or handle the dough too much.
8. With a rolling pin, gently roll out dough to 3/4 inch thick.
9. From this point you can cut dough into triangles. I like to use a square cookie cutter then cut the square on the diagonal, now you have two perfect triangles. Easy right?
10. Now transfer scones to a baking pan lines with parchment paper and bake for 15-20 minutes. Just until the edges turn brown.
11. Allow the scones to cool before adding the glaze.
Glaze
Combine all ingredients in a bowl and mix until everything is combined. After the scones have cooled spoon the glaze over the scones.
